Question: Kelvin Grove School Transport Infrastructure Program
Question to Council Chambers - Councillor Seal Chong Wah – Paddington Ward

My question is to the Lord Mayor, regarding the School Transport Infrastructure Program, or STIP.
As the local road authority, this Council has a responsibility to submit projects for funding to this program. Yet this Council has only put forward 11 projects in the last 4 years. Last financial year, this Council only put forward 1.
This is despite school P&C’s putting forward several projects each. Kelvin Grove State College alone has made several applications to improve the safety of children walking to and from school. This is a school with over 3,600 enrolled students, one of the largest schools in Queensland. But this Council hasn’t submitted a single one to the STIP program.
Why did this Council submit just 1 School Transport Infrastructure Program application last financial year?
